It is said every living thing has a special name. Sharing this secret means trusting others because this type of name is powerful. Whether we realize it or not, it contains our strengths as well as our vulnerabilities. These names frame who we are, defining our place in the pack as it were, so guarding it carefully is important.

As you embark upon your quest to become a TerraKoru, you will learn many names. Respect those names, as you would have others respect yours. Who knows? Maybe the names you’ll learn in TerraTopia will belong to the friends you’ll have on Earth.

Choose your Toka

One of the first steps in becoming a TerraKoru, is to choose an animal toka, or spirit, to run alongside you in life. This ‘essence’ will represent you both in TerraTopia and in the natural world. It is the mirrored spirit of who you’d be if you could fly like a falcon, swim like a shark, or run like a wildebeest.

It is through our tokas that we are challenged to experience the wonders of Nature, our eyes and ears as we begin to understand the Balance—the Koru—that is central to all life.
